AppleJet Training
AppleJet Training is run by our Chief Pilot Chicago_Aviator. Here, we strive to help you become a better pilot! Here we will teach you anything you want to know about being a pilot on Infinite Flight. We can take you up for some bush flying in Alaska, or maybe some formation flights over the Bahamas! We can teach anything from the basics of taking off and landing to real world procedures. If you want to become the best pilot you can be in the Infinite Flight skies, you have come to the right place!
Our trainers can teach by flying the flights with or being controllers for you on the Training Server or the Expert Server. Our Training group is made up of, grade 3-4-5 pilots, real world pilots, and IFATC members.
If you want help but you can’t attend a lesson don’t worry! We can also help assign official Infinite Flight tutorials or pieces you can read from the Infinite Flight handbook and community.
Frequently Asked Questions
1). What happens during this stage?
The Training stage is unique to every pilot. Each pilot will need to take our Pilot knowledge test. If the pilot passes with a 85% or higher, the training phase is not necessary. If the pilot scores lower than 85%, this phase is necessary for acceptance. Once our tester receives the score, we will review what the pilot needs improvement upon, and will structure, a lesson based on those areas. After the lesson has been finished the pilot is encouraged to take the test again as soon as possible. This will repeat until the pilot has passed the test with a 85% or higher.
2). What would a lesson look like?
A typical lesson would be a short flight from our hub Milwaukee (KMKE) to Chicago O’Hare (KORD). During this flight we will work on what the pilot needs improvement upon, This could be using unicom or ATC, Learning correct taxing speeds, and much more possible areas for improvement. Other lessons could be remaining at our hub airport KMKE to learn patterns or many other pilot skills.
3). How long will a lesson take?
Lessons can range in time from 15 minutes to over an hour, this will be dependent on the pilots and testers schedules, as well as what needs to be taught during the lesson.
4). Can I book a lesson before or after taking my test?
Of course! We are here to help you become a better pilot. If you want to book a lesson for any reason, please PM Chicago_Aviator on Discord or the IFC.
5). How many times can I take the test?
There is no limit to the amount of times you can take the test. We are willing to help you get into this VO no matter how many times you have failed the test.
6). How will we communicate?
Don’t worry if you don’t want to voice chat. You will never be forced to. In fact, for the time being, we only use the PM’s on the IFC or Discord.
